According to Wikipedia, "The Santa Thereza de Jesus Church of the Venerable Order Terceira do Carmo is a Catholic temple located in the city of Recife , Brazil ." The "Basilica do Carmo" is basically attached to the church and makes up the centerpiece of the building. The Gothic Architecture of the church, the baroque style, is common for the time when construction began in 1655 by Captain Diogo Cavalcanti Vasconcelos with many add- ons and renovations spread over many years after the initial build. This artwork consists of the the main chapel. There are few architectures I have seen that can rival the beauty of this chapel. I am not a religious person, and while not accomplishing very much positively in humanities plight, religion has given the world some of the most exquisite architecture in human history.
