Clashnessie Falls are located in Northwestern Scotland very close to Clashnessie Bay. The falls are about 50 feet tall and the whole area is just stunning. Our hike to these falls was not a really easy one although not terribly long, mostly because of the muddy conditions at the time. When we were there it was pouring rain intermittently and a muddy mess with any trails washed out. I would say that for a young person the hike is fairly easy, but to someone older more difficult, especially if it is raining or there has been a lot of rainfall. These falls are magnificent, especially in the Fall, but then again all of the Scottish Highlands are unimaginably exquisite in the Fall. As with all waterfalls the esthetics are very dependent on the water flow from their source. For that reason we planned this trip in the Fall after the seasonal rainfall in the UK picks up considerably. I love Scotland and in fact relocated there near the Scottish Highland area.
