St. Michael's Mount has existed since the 12th Century although there was probably a monastery on the mount from around the 8th through the 11th century. The Mount is steeped in religious history. I would encourage anyone interested to do some research into the mount's and castle's history. The castle is a wonder to see and the sight of this huge construction sitting atop a beautiful mountain in the middle of Mount's Bay in Cornwall is a truly amazing treasure and an absolute must-see if you visit England.
