Hermit's Castle is supposed to be the smallest castle in Europe, but calling the structure a "castle" is a bit of a stretch. It is actually a small concrete structure that was built there in the 1950's. The "castle" was presumably built by an architect from Norwich, David Scott. No one really knows why or what for. The structure is very small, too small to really live in, but all the same it is really cool in it's own way. Because of the rocky and mountainous terrain surrounding the structure the materials had to have been brought in by boat which having been there I can tell you would have been no small feat.
